Health and Safety: Summit Scaffolding Waikato

As each scaffolding product and system undergoes regular and rigorous testing and tagging processes, Summit are comfortable and confident that their choice of gear is fail-proof as required by the WorkSafe Working at Height Scaffolding New Zealand guidelines. These comprise directives laid out by the Safety at Work Act 2015 and the Health and Safety in Employment Regulations 1995 and apply to all scaffolding equipment.

We are obliged to follow through with compliance on:

• The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA)

• The Health and Safety in Employment Regulations 1995 (HSE Regulations)

• Health and Safety at Work (General Risk and Workplace Management) Regulations 2016 (GRWM Regulations)

• SARNZ Good Practice Guidelines for Scaffolding in New Zealand 2016.

Having our scaffolding systems certified fit for purpose is just half the equation. Summit’s team of installers must also understand, follow, and be conversant with industry-specific health and safety mandates. Each scaffolder is required to hold a current certificate of competence appropriate to the type of scaffold that is being erected, used, maintained, repaired, or dismantled. The term ‘competent’ refers to a person who has appropriate knowledge and skill – attained through training, qualifications, or experience – to carry out a specific task. Summit are pleased that our crew safely meet and/or exceed the benchmark requirements listed to don this term as their own.
Assisting our allegiance to those standards is governing body, SARNZ (Scaffolding, Access and Rigging New Zealand Inc) and Site Safe NZ. Our commitment means that Summit maintain our steady position at the forefront of all areas of health and safety within the scaffolding industry.

We are obliged to follow through with compliance on:
The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA)
The Health and Safety in Employment Regulations 1995 (HSE Regulations)
Health and Safety at Work (General Risk and Workplace Management) Regulations 2016 (GRWM Regulations)
SARNZ Good Practice Guidelines for Scaffolding in New Zealand 2016.
